Chakras Connection

I had a recent epiphany while I was meditating. The 7 main chakras, which are part of the human subtle energy system, can be applied to a unique day of the week. If you aren’t familiar with the energy chakras there’s a quick summary below.

  1. Root or Base Chakra
Is located at the base of the spine, funneling downwards to connect us with earth energy. It relates to the physical body through the adrenal glands.
  2. Sacral Chakra
Located just below the navel and governs the reproductive glands.
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra
Located in the solar plexus area between the navel and sternum. It relates to the pancreas and its glandular functions.
  4. Heart Chakra
Located in the middle of the chest it relates to the thymus gland.
  5. Throat Chakra
Located in the throat area and governs the thyroid and parathyroid glands.
  6. Brow or Third Eye Chakra
Located on the forehead between the eyebrows and relates to the Pineal gland in the brain.
  7. Crown Chakra
Located at the top of the head, funneling upwards to connect with our higher self and spirit. It relates to the Pituitary gland as well as the Pineal gland.
We are spiritual and physical beings, there is no separating that. When I teach about the Chakra Energy System I always include how they relate physiologically because it gives people a way to connect them with their physical body. It gives them a better understanding on how emotions can affect the physical body for better or worse. And there is always an emotional side to things.

Here’s how the days of the week can relate to the chakras

Sunday – Root Chakra

Ground and centre your energy by focusing on the first chakra. This helps you prepare for the coming week. Release anything from the past week and start fresh. A great day to relax and spend time with your loved ones.

Monday – Sacral Chakra

This first day of the work and school week gets a bad rap. Focus on the second chakra to help boost creativity energy and nurture relationships. This includes partnerships, work and personal relationships.

Tuesday – Solar Plexus

Nurturing this centre of self identity can help you maintain whatever tasks you need to work on. Remember to keep any ego thoughts out of your mind and you will sail through the rest of the week no matter what activities you have planned.

Wednesday – Heart Chakra

Coincidently this is the middle chakra with 3 below and 3 above it. Just like Wednesday is the middle of the week. By this time we may need to focus on our heart centre and any emotional stuff that comes up. Perhaps something happened at work or school. Or there may be worry or fear about an upcoming event or task.

Thursday – Throat Chakra

Work and school involves a lot of communication. So this is a good day to work on any issues connected to the centre of communication. Release what you cannot say or give voice to the things that you should say.

Friday – Brow Chakra (Third Eye)

As we move into the weekend there is a shift in perspective. By working with the intuitive centre you can focus and trust what guides you.

Saturday – Crown Chakra

The last day of the week gives us time to do our house chores. We can also renew our connection with our Source. This is our time to reconnect with home life, family and friends.
